We have a secret…
An important secret…
And we want to share it…
We know how to have a profound, transformative, even orgasmic experience. We know secrets about how to birth with pleasure. We know that women, when given freedom and accompanied by a caring individual, will have have a normal and natural birth, spontaneously. We know that the baby knows how to be born and that the best thing to do is to allow the baby her role as protagonist in her own birth, allow her to perform her movements in her own time ,without interfering in her dance. We know that after being born the best place for the baby to be is against the skin of her mother and that together, skin to skin, they will fall in love and create a bond that will last generations. We know that there is no rush. We know that this moment is ours, is familiar, is intimate, is irreplaceable.
We also know that home birth is just as safe, or safer, than birth in the hospital, as it involves a lower rate of interventions. We know that birth requires a cocktail of hormones that are released only when the laboring woman has absolute freedom. We know that vertical positions, spontaneous pushing, low lighting and silence are scientific skills for assuring excellent results in birth. We know that the bond of breastfeeding is established in the first hour postpartum. We know that breastfeeding is invaluable.
We know how to give birth, and this we know.
We know how to be born, and this we know.
Join us in Chiapas in June to celebrate and share your knowledge. The objectives of the conference are:
- Share our ancestral knowledge and integrate it with our scientific knowledge; acknowledge our intuitive knowledge and situate it amidst our practical knowledge.
- Activate networks of education, communication and formation of new midwives to share our knowledge.
- Familiarize ourselves with humanized birth through research and publications about midwifery and home birth.
- Celebrate those who dedicate their lives to cultivating trust in our bodies, our children, our knowledge.
